Residents of Cloud 9, a society in Ahinsa Khand 2, Indirapuram had conducted a painting drive today. Interestingly, the boundary walls of the society were turned into the canvas.

The residents, all of whom are members of the Green Team, painted messages about the proper disposal of excreta of pet animals on the outer side of the boundary walls. Images too were painted.

Speaking to City Spidey, Jayati Jain, a resident of Cloud 9 and a Green Team member said that ‘Scoop the Poop’ one of their community initiatives, which has found expression in today’s wall painting drive, had taken a back seat for quite a while now.

“For now, only five walls of our society have been covered in the drive,” Jain said. She also shared that for the community drives to be successful a little extra effort is required from the residents.

Today’s drive was headed by Urvi Shah, another resident of Cloud 9 who teaches drawing and art. “We had initially planned to display banners with the messages. But we later decided to paint the messages on our boundary walls because the paintings have a higher visibility and shelf life. We also thought that they will beautify the otherwise barren walls,” shared Urvi.

Urvi also informed City Spidey that this initiative shall be extended to other societies too.
