Armaan's parents pin their hopes on the SC for justice

After running from pillar to post to get justice for their dead son, parents of Armaan Sehgal have now approached the National Human Rights Commission. The parents, through their counsel Gurmeet Singh, have filed a petition demanding a thorough investigation into the incident. One of their primary demands is a CBI inquiry. Moreover, speaking to City Spidey, Swati Sehgal, Armaan’s mother, claimed that they would also file a petition tomorrow at the Supreme Court demanding a CBI probe into the incident.

Armaan Sehgal, a Class IV student of GD Goenka Public School, Indirapuram, died under mysterious circumstances on the school premises on August 1.

The parents and their counsel maintained that the apex court’s acceptance of the plea for a CBI inquiry into the murder of Pradduman Thakur, a student of Ryan International School, Gurgaon, has encouraged them to approach it with their demand. Pradduman was allegedly murdered by a schoolbus conductor in the school’s washroom on September 8.

“We have approached everyone in our reach to get justice for our son, and we will not rest till justice is served,” said Swati Sehgal. “The fact that we still do not know what killed our son has left us shattered. We are pinning our hopes on the Supreme Court now.”

Speaking to City Spidey, Gurmeet Singh, the Sehgals’ counsel, maintained that they would also file a second petition with the SC to quash the school’s petition at the Allahabad High Court to quash the FIR lodged against them after Armaan’s death. The police had registered a criminal case against the school management for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and for destroying evidence under sections 304 and 201 of IPC.

“The school administration is misusing the law to buy more time, as there is no provision for anticipatory bail in UP. We will request the Supreme Court to quash the school’s petition,” Singh added.
