Gurgaon, DLF Ph II: A temple to call its own!

All good things happen in time. Residents of DLF Phase II, Gurgaon, finally have a temple on their premises. Started in 2015, the temple now stands ready. Spread over an area of 900 square yards, the structure is located in Block N.

The temple, built of pure white marble from Ambaji in Gujarat, has contributions from residents as well. “We were always involved closely in the construction of the temple — we feel very connected to this place, somehow. We plan to get together frequently for kirtans here, and enjoy the serenity of the place,” said Promila Sharma, a resident.

This air-conditioned temple has several deities, including Shiv, Durga Ma, Sheetla Mata, Santoshi Mata, Ganesh, Ram, Hanuman and Nandi.

Ramesh Yadav, a resident, who has worked hard to collect contributions  from residents, said, “I was majorly involved in managing the construction and labour requirements — this project holds a special place in our hearts.”

Speaking about the initiative, another resident, Ramesh Grover, said, “The residents got together and contributed for the temple. This temple had been a longstanding demand of the residents, especially for female residents and senior citizens.”
