Noida: Boy from Marigold Public School meets with an accident near Sector 19

At a time when a spate of unfortunate incidents have happened with school children in the Delhi-NCR region the administration has been striving to tighten all safety measures in connection to school children. However, not much has changed. Today an eleven year old student of Marigold Public School Noida fell from an auto near Sector 19. The boy Tanmaye Singh, was one among six children from his school who were travelling home by this auto.

Whereas four of the children had been sitting on the back seat of the auto rickshaw, Tanmaye and another student were sitting next to the driver. The injured boy had been immediately rushed to Max Multi Speciality Hospital, in Sector-19. His condition is critical.

Babloo Kumar, the driver of the auto rickshaw told City Spidey that the accident happened when a car overtook the auto. The auto driver had then put the brakes on to avoid a collision with the speeding car. “Unfortunately this sudden jerk had thrown the boy out,” he said.

So who actually is responsible for this callous arrangement of packing six school children in an auto? The parents and school management of Marigold Public School are not ready to talk about the matter. Apparently in many schools, parents hire private autos and cabs to transport their children. One wonders if this is a sure recipe for a mishap!
