Two bike-borne miscreants shot an Amul Milk distributor on Taksal Road in Sector 1, Noida, on Saturday, and made away with Rs 8 lakh. The injured distributor, Raj kumar Singh, was admitted to the district hospital, where he later died. The police has now got hold of a video clip shot on a phone by a passerby, and is searching for the bike rider based on the video evidence.

The incident took place at around 3.30 pm. Singh was riding a motorcycle and was on his way to Punjab National Bank from his shop in Sector 1. He was carrying a bag with Rs 8 lakh in it. The miscreants intercepted him and tried to rob him. When he resisted their attempts, one of the miscreants shot at him.

The incident has been recorded on CCTV cameras.

The footage shows a auto passing by and the victim collapsing as one of the miscreants shoots at him. The other miscreant in helmet keeps the bike’s engine running. The shooter gets back to the bike, and the duo escape from the spot.

After hearing the firing, people approach the injured vendor and inform the police. A PCR van takes him to a district hospital, where he dies later.

The police is searching for the bike and the miscreants on the basis of the video.

Arun Kuymar, SP City, Noida, said, “The video will be shown to family members of Rajkumar and other people for identification. The matter is being investigated from all angles and the miscreants will be nabbed soon.”

The SP maintained that prima-facie the incident seems to be a case of armed loot.
