With a view to ensuring flawless performance of the Citizen Volunteer Force, or CVF, this Ghaziabad group has issued a set of guidelines for its members.

CVF was initiated by Akash Tomar, SP, City of Ghaziabad, along with RWAs, Civil Defence, local security staff and other city organisations. Several residents from across Ghaziabad joined the cause.

In the new set of guidelines, members have been asked to coordinate with other volunteers in the area and deal wish issues relevant to community policing only. They have also been asked to avoid posting personal problems on CVF forums and to approach relevant police posts with the issue. However, working in coordination with the police was also a must.

The guidelines also ask them to encourage residents to instal GPS in their four-wheelers and ensure more CCTV cameras are installed around the neighbourhood.

Speaking to City Spidey, Alok Kumar, president of Federation of Apartment Owners Association (FedAOA) and a CVF coordinator, said that although a lot of people were registered with the CVF, there was not enough participation. “We are trying to enhance participation in the field through these guidelines and have asked volunteers to dedicate whatever time they can to the initiative,” Kumar added.
