Residents of various Noida sectors are complaining that they have been getting dirty, foul-smelling water for the past couple of days. Despite several complaints to Noida Authority, no action has been taken.

Rishipal Singh, a resident of Sector 19, told City Spidey that the water supply to his flat on Monday was dirty and smelt bad. “We get this kind of water two to three days every week,” he added.

He also said that he had made several complaints with Noida Authority but the situation hadn’t changed.

Residents of sectors 12, 15, 20, 21, 27, 31, 45, 71 and 72, too, have similar complaints.

Aditya Kumar, a resident of Sector 71, told City Spidey that a few of them had also complained of skin infections and allergies due to the contaminated water. “In the last few months, electronic equipment such as our washing machines and ROs have also been damaged,” he added.

When City Spidey spoke to an official of Jal Nigam of Noida Authority, he said that the water canal in Ghaziabad had been cleaned today and he expected residents to receive clean water now. “If the situation is still the same, we will conduct an inspection of the water tank and fix the problem,” he added.
