The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is all set to spread awareness on civic cleanliness through a marathon. It is organising ‘Cleanothon,’ a ten kilometre long run, on October 2. This run for cleanliness shall start at 7 am in the morning from the CPWD Grounds at Kamla Nehru Nagar. After running through various areas of the city, the participants shall return to the starting point.

The participants have to be more than 15 years old. The winners of both the gender categories shall be awarded Rs 51 thousand. The first and the second runner ups shall receive cash prizes of Rs 25 thousand and Rs 15 thousand respectively.

Speaking to City Spidey, AK Gupta Joint Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad,said that a run is a healthy way to spread awareness. Besides it is also an effective route as people generally participate in such events. “We also have attractive prizes for the winners,” Gupta added.

Officials from the Municipal Corporation said that they are expecting participation from all quarters of the city.
