Noida, be prepared. There won't be any power supply on October 8

With repair work to be carried out by PVVNL on the Sector-20 substation, electric supply to several areas of Noida city will be suspended for about eight hours on October 8. This substation houses a 220 KVA power line.

In fact, PVVNL seeks to repair and maintain all substations in Noida before Diwali so that people can get uninterrupted power supply during the season of lights. “Due to the ongoing Navratri festival, we have decided to carry out all repair work after the festival,” said a PVVNL official.

This means, the official added, all work will be done in October now and will result in disruption of power supply to more than 14 power feeders.

Rakesh Kumar Rana, Superintendent Engineer of PVVNL, told City Spidey, the sectors that would be affected include 6, 8, 9, 10, 16, 19, 20, 23, 25, 31, 32 and Phase-2. Electricity supply in these areas will remain in 'silent mode' from 9 am till 5 pm.

Rana also informed that sectors such as 11, 12, 15, 22, 27, 33, 34, 49, 55 and 56 will suffer partial disruption in power supply throughout the day. “After Sector-20 substation, repair work will be done in other substations located in Sectors 11, 16, 45, 46, 47, 50, 66, 108, 123 and 132 - all to be completed before Diwali,” he assured.

With all that done, post Diwali PVVNL hopes to provide Noida power 24/7. "Yes, we wouldn't want to cut off power supply anymore in any part of the city,” Rana said.
