After a year of running without an Apartment Owners Association (AOA), ATS Advantage, a residential society in Indirapuram has now elected a fresh AOA. The AOA body was formed through elections, which were conducted by the district administration.
Following complaints from residents of the society, the Deputy Registrar (DR) had passed an order on October 15 last year, which declared the body to be time-barred. The order had stripped the AOA of some of its rights. The election was conducted under the jurisdiction of the district administration.
The newly elected board of AOA members include Abhishek Singh, Shekhar Vilas, Usha Singh, Deepak Srivastava, Sanjay Gupta, Sanjay Jain, Vivek Rai, Sanjiv Nirvan, Vimal Kakkar and Mukesh Paliwal.
The elections had been conducted on October 8. However, the counting of votes happened until October 10 night (counting had been deferred as October 8 was Karva Chauth celebrations). A total of 705 people exercised their franchise rights in electing the new body.
Speaking to City Spidey, DC Agarwal, convener of election committee said that the results have been unofficially declared and have been sent to Sanjay Bansal, election officer, SDM for approval.
“The posts of the board shall be appointed once the results are approved by the SDM,” Agarwal added.
According to residents of the society, lowering maintenance charges, improving security of the society and forming forums for women, children and senior citizens were the main poll promises. “We hope that the new board fulfills the promises made before the election,” said a resident.
