A green area developed as a park was inaugurated today in the presence of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat, its deputy commissioner (Najafgarh zone), Sanjeev Kumar, and other officials.
The park, located at the entrance to the sub-city under Palam Flyover, has been christened SDMC Vatika.

The development of the area, which was earlier an eyesore, cost about Rs 42 lakh, said the deputy commissioner. Another such park has been developed at Bijwasan.
Residents from various societies in the area and RWA representatives were also present at the inauguration.
RK Sharma, a resident of Sector 7, said, “Previously, this area was used for open defecation and had become a hub for drug addicts. Now, it stands transformed. We residents can now enjoy this park, thanks to the corporation.”
