Noida Authority came out with a schedule to counter mosquitoes and pests through fogging earlier this month. Residents, however, think that the initiative was a farce. They say that like every year, the fogging schedule is just an eyewash and there will be no relief from the growing mosquito menace.
City Spidey took up the issue with residents from various sectors of Noida.
Most are calling Noida Authority's bluff on the fogging schedule. Residents of sectors 21, 25, 27, 34 and 37 say that routine fogging is not being carried out in their sectors.
Ajay Goel, general secretary of the RWA of Jalvayu Vihar, Sector 21, told City Spidey that fogging was carried out on April 4. On the next scheduled date, which was five days later, nobody showed up.
Rajeev Garg, general secretary of the Sector 27 RWA, said that the Authority prepares a fogging schedule every year but fails to carry it out effectively.
KK Jain, president of the Sector 34 RWA, said that they have made several complaints to the health department of Noida Authority, but no action at all has been taken. "The officials promise to solve the problem every time, but nothing is ever done," he added.
When City Spidey took up the issue with SK Gupta, health inspector of Noida Authority, he said that he would brief the fogging staff about how the work is to be carried out. He assured that fogging would be done as per schedule.
