Ghaziabad:Gaur Green City submits fresh appeal to authorities over garbage fumes

Residents of Gaur Green City, a high rise society located along NH 24 in Indirapuram, have once again appealed to the district administration and other relevant civic departments to eradicate a neighbouring  garbage dump, which has been fuelling smoke and pollutants into the area for a long time now.

“Apart from escalating pollution the perennially burning mounds of garbage have made it difficult for us to even breathe properly,” said Malay Majumdar, general secretary of the society AoA.

Majumdar further said that the problem has existed for several years now and that civic authorities have not taken the onus to resolve it. “We had approached the GDA several times on this issue but they have not managed to resolve it till now. However, they had assured us of action. With the district administration holding the reins of GDA now, we hope that things shall change for the better. Fresh complaints have been submitted at the DM office, the SSP office, the Nagar Nigam and the GDA,” Majumdar added.

Speaking to City Spidey, Ritu Maheshwari, District Magistrate of Ghaziabad assured that the problem will be looked into. Maheshwari further urged residents of the society to meet her in person with their problems tomorrow.
