Gurgaon: Water issues in Sushant Lok get MCG nod

The residents of Sushant Lok 1 have sought the intervention of the MCG (Municipal Corporation of Gurugram) in terms of their issues pertaining to water supply. According to a current analysis, the water shortage at Sushant Lok is around 10,000 kilolitres.

MCG had taken over the water supply in September this year. It was then that the body was mandated by a detailed project report to spend 10 crores on resolving water supply shortage.

Addressing the current state of water supply in the colony, SS Rohilla a public relations officer with MCG said, “The defunct tube wells that existed have been repaired and we have also directed DHBVN (Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) to install water meters in the area. We have also upgraded pumps with machines to increase the pressure of water.”

The residents are happy about the fact that the MCG commissioner is issuing directions for the construction of underground tank and repair of water pumps.

“Our problems have been heard and we want to see the outcomes soon so that the colony becomes self-sufficient in the basic amenities concerning water supply. We don’t want to rely on tankers anymore” said Sudhir Sachdeva, a resident.
