And it’s not just Vasundhara. According to residents, the municipal corporation had to instal LED lights in Vaishali, Brij Vihar and Shalimar Garden too.
Residents of Sector 13, Vasundhara, are complaining about non-functional streetlights on the sector’s main road. They also allege that the municipal corporation of Ghaziabad had promised to replace all sodium lights with LED lights before Diwali, but even that work is pending.
As a result, neither are there new LED lights on the Sector 13 main road, nor are the existing sodium lights working.
And it’s not just Vasundhara. According to residents, the municipal corporation had to instal LED lights in Vaishali, Brij Vihar and Shalimar Garden too.
Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Vasundhara, told City Spidey that residents had made several complaints to the municipal corporation to repair the streetlights and instal LED lights but nothing was done. “Stepping out after dark has become a problem,” he added.
Another resident, Suresh Kumar, said the dark stretch had also been encouraging antisocial elements. “Female and senior residents do not use the road after dark,” he added.
Raj Kishore, the corporation in-charge of streetlights, told City Spidey that installation of LED lights was under way and would soon be completed in Vasundhara.
