Men who arrive on motorcycles without number plates often drink and smoke in the park after dusk. This is translating to a security concern.
Residents of DLF Phase 1 have alleged that a park in Block A, meant strictly for residents, is being used by outsiders. They say that although the rules clearly bar the entry of outsiders, many strangers are seen loitering around the park these days.
“Men on motorcycles without number plates often visit the area. Clearly this is very dangerous, especially because these men drink and smoke in the park. I have raised this issue with the security guards on several occasions,” said Tejesh Srivastav, a resident of Block A.
“The residents feel unsafe from these trespassers. The police should deploy a policeman around the park for a few hours at night,” said Dhruv Bansal, a resident of block A.
A group of residents met the newly elected area councilor R S Rathee on Saturday and requested him to look into the matter. Rathee has assured them of his assistance. “I shall ensure that the streetlights are repaired and that guards keep a vigil every evening. If anyone is found drinking in the park, the police shall be informed,” he stated.
