He issued a letter to RWAs saying he would relax their penalties in water bills issued by Delhi Jal Board. He also gave out his personal number to residents in case there were any issues.

MLA of Matiala Assembly, Gulab Singh Yadav, assured Dwarka residents that he would relax their penalties in water bills issued by Delhi Jal Board.

The MLA also circulated a letter on WhatsApp to the RWAs of the sub-city to the effect. The letter was demanded by the Federation of Cooperative Group Housing Societies (FCGHS) Dwarka yesterday at a public interaction at New Arohi Apartments in Sector 12.

At the meeting, Sudha Sinha, general secretary of FCGHS, Dwarka, asked the MLA to give residents an assurance in writing that he would look into the issue.

In his letter, Gulab Singh Yadav added that he would raise the subject with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal as well.

Through his letter, he told residents to not pay DJB any penalty until there was a decision taken on the issue.

There was also another meeting organised yesterday on the call of the MLA at New Arohi Apartments, in which existing problems faced by residents were discussed with officials. ACP Dwarka, Rajendra Singh; and vice-president of BSES, SK Dagar; along with officials of DJB and DDA Horticulture were present at the meeting.

Road safety and overall security were discussed, as were issues of traffic violation, open drinking in parks and lack of lights on roads.

ACP Singh assured residents of his full support in making the sub-city safe. Dagar on his part also promised them of better lighting on the streets.

At the end of the meeting, the MLA gave residents his mobile number and asked them to call him any time of the day in case they faced any civic issue.
