There is good news for Dwarka as South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is soon going to beautify corners and unused parts of slip roads across the sub-city.

According to Kamaljeet Sehrawat, mayor of SDMC, who is also a resident of Dwarka, the spots have already been identified.

Incidentally, the permission for undertaking this drive has come through after considerable follow-ups with higher officials of DDA.

Talking to City Spidey, Sehrawat said, "We want to make Dwarka one of the most beautiful places in Delhi. I have had a series of discussions with DDA and MCD officials on what can be done. In the next six months, the work should be complete."

The mayor also said that the parks transferred from DDA to MCD would also be undergoing a facelift. “There will be renovation activity in all the 148 parks under MCD. Walls shall be repaired, recessed areas levelled, grills painted and proper lights installed. Work has already started.”

President of Federation of RWAs of Sector 9, Advocate KS Bhati, said, “This is a positive initiative by SDMC. Earlier DDA had developed and beautified some spots. I hope this time the sub-city gets a makeover.”
