Bhavisha Buddhadeo is a mother of two young boys who were both conferred the National Child Award on Children’s Day. Talking about their unique achievements, she says that the memories of this special day will last her for a lifetime…
Children’s Day is a day where parents and teachers strive to do something special and memorable for children. For Bhavisha Buddhadeo, a Gurgaon resident and mother of two sons it was a heartening reverse. This Children’s Day she accompanied her seven year old son for a recognition ceremony. And it was no ordinary recognition for Master Jaysheel Buddhadeo received the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Popularly known as ‘Little Clean Up Ambassador and Eco Warrior,’ in his social circle, young Jaysheel has been campaigning the need to reduce-reuse and recycle waste in a manner that has inspired grownups. One would not assume that a seven year old would be interested about recycling green kitchen garbage into compost manure but this is exactly what this child has been dexterously learning, practicing and setting an example in.
He has other achievements too. He is the youngest recipient of a diploma in Hindustani classical music (vocal) from the renowned Allahabad based Prayag Sangeet Samiti. Three years ago, this young music maestro had earned an entry into the India Book of Records for being the youngest green crusader to spread the message of environment preservation through his stage performances.
Despite his chronological age, Jaysheel has a way of making grown-ups listen to his ideas and suggestions. He often speaks through his music. He has been on radio stations and participated in community events to say what he believes in. He also has a dedicated Youtube channel, which has reached more than 25, 000 people across the world.
These are enough achievements in one son to make a mother swell with pride for a lifetime. However, Bhavisha Buddhadeo has another human reason to smile. Her elder son Taksheel Buddhadeo had also received the National Child Award for exceptional achievement from the Indian President in 2014 when he was just 8 years old.
Taksheel too has been a trailblazer in his own right. He started learning Indian classical music at the tender age of two. He has a diploma in vocal and instrumental music from Prayag University and even passed the ‘Prarambhik’ (preliminary) examination from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya at the surprising age of three. Taksheel is incidentally the youngest student to have participated in over 200 performances on All India Radio. He has even hosted many live as well as pre-recorded programmes. Most of his programmes encourage people to conserve environment and adopt eco-friendly ways.
So what does the proud mother of these extraordinarily gifted boys have to say? “Children's Day has turned out to be the most memorable day of my life. I am glad that I have been able to hone the skills of my sons and steer them towards a meaningful life, which has brought them this prestigious accolade,” says Bhavisha a resident of Gurgaon Sector 22.
Both the brothers are students of Amity International School in Gurgaon Sector 46. Jaysheel and Taksheel credit their success to their parents and school. Apart from music, they are fond of cooking, fine arts, cycling, skating and chess.
“I like to spread knowledge and awareness about the need to care for planet Earth through my songs. My dream is to be an engineer like my father and a master chef like my mother,” says the articulate Jaysheel, who spends his free time volunteering for HAREDA, the Haryana government’s department of renewable energy.
