Residents of Amrapali Silicon City, in Sector 76, Noida, are living in fear of falling prey to dengue or chikungunya. Silicon City Social Welfare Association has also written a letter to the chief medical officer of Gautam Budh Nagar to conduct an inspection of the site and take action against the builder. A copy of the letter has been sent to the district magistrate and to the developer.
Rajender Pal, joint secretary of Silicon City Social Welfare Association, told City Spidey that the society had become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. This is especially scary, as there have been more than 10 cases of dengue in the society this year alone.

He also said the developer had to construct two sewage treatment plants but had constructed only one. “There is no proper connection of the society drains; the basement drain, too, is uncovered,” he added.
Residents say the builder is unperturbed, despite several complaints from residents. They add there has also been no fogging by Noida Authority in a long time.
Anurag Bhargava, chief medical officer, told City Spidey that he hadn’t received any letter from any society yet. “I will inspect the site and take necessary action when I receive any such letter,” he said.
