Kirti Apartments residents rejoice as the society completes 25 years

Residents of Kirti Apartments, a cooperative group housing society (CGHS) in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, are in a festive mood. The reason — completion of the society's 25th anniversary.

While silver jubilee celebrations, accompanied by various cultural activities, are is scheduled for December 30, part of the celebrations will start from December 10. Over the next three weekends (December 10, 17 and 24), Sports Day will be organised. From children to senior citizens, people of all age groups will get to participate in sports activities such as sack race, Sudoku, carrom and badminton.

Celebrations will be be kickstarted with a sack race for children in different age groups. On December 17, Sudoku and carrom matches for residents will be held, while badminton matches for different age groups will be held on December 24. All events will be held within the society premises.

Ravi Agrawal, a resident of the society and one of the event organisers, said that it was a big occasion for residents. “We have scheduled different programmes on different Sundays, because children are busy with their mid-year exams. Another reason was that organising so many activities would have resulted in one hectic day. Hence, we decided to organise cultural programmes and silver jubilee celebrations separately.”

He also said that the managing committee would bear the expenses for silver jubilee celebration. “Residents will not pay for participating in any activity. Everything will be free for them,” he added.

SK Sharma, president of the managing committee, said, “We want to make the occasion memorable, as we have been here for the past 25 years. We welcome all residents of the society to participate.”
