IAS officer missing from Dwarka

An IAS officer (allied services), Jitendra Kumar Jha, a resident of Shivalik Apartments in Sector 9, has been missing since Monday this week. According to sources, 42-year-old Jha had gone for a morning walk, and never returned.

The police is going through CCTV footage sourced from cameras in the vicinity of the society.

In one footage obtained from ITL Public School, Jha is seen at 10.09 am on Monday, and after six minutes, he was seen in the CCTV footage of a restaurant in the area. In both, he seemed normal.

Jha’s family, however, is claiming this to be a case of kidnapping.

The police, so far, have got no certain leads. But they have now registered a case of kidnapping.

Jha hailed from the Supaul district of Bihar. He was posted as financial advisor at the ministry of HRD in Delhi. It was learnt from the family that he had been upset over his frequent transfers — he was transferred six times in the last four years. Also, every six months, he was being shunted from one department to another.

According to family members, Jha had also raised questions against the financial irregularities in the CRPF [Central Reserve Police Force] and the SPG [Special Protection Group]. His honest and blunt approach could have been a reason for his kidnapping, say family members.

A team of senior officers visited Jha’s house on Wednesday.
