In an initiative that will benefit almost 100 families, the residents of DLF Phase 1 have converted two barren plots of lands into leisure and amusement parks. Situated in the blocks K10 and K13, the barren areas have been developed by MCG in collaboration with the residents.

Speaking to City Spidey, RS Rathee, MCG councillor, said, “We have already installed streetlights and deployed security in both the parks. Functional streetlights, good roads and improved security are anyway part of our broad mandate for Gurgaon.”

These barren areas were first cleaned through JCB machines. While the lands were tilled to lend an even surface to the park grounds, a track for joggers was also created in both the areas. Notices prohibiting illegal commercial activities have also been issued for both the parks.

Pradeep Bali, a resident of DLF Phase 1, Block K, said, “We had no park catering to our block earlier. Now we shall have our own space for leisure and relaxation.”
