Sector 23, Palam Vihar, is happy with the MCG. Here's why

The residents of Sector 23, Palam Vihar, will now have a new road to their sector. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, or MCG, has recently undertaken a project to build a new road from the 3.9-km stretch from Sector 5 to Rezang La Chowk, on a budget of approximately Rs 13 crore.

Needless to say, residents of sectors 21, 22 and 23 are overjoyed. They say they had been complaining to the authorities about the condition of the roads in Palam Vihar for the past three years. The situation would worsen in the rains, with large potholes being filled with water, which would lead to accidents.

“The authorities carried out a few repairs but that was just a temporary solution,” said a resident.

Speaking to City Spidey, an MCG official said, “We are building a new road instead of repairing the old one; and we aim to complete the task in the next four to five months. We will also level out the roads wherever required. So residents will now have safer and smoother roads.”

Though heavy traffic may be slowing down the process, work is on in full swing.
