Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka, Shibesh Singh, announced that more self-defence camps would be organised to instil self-confidence in women and girls and to enable them to fight against adverse situations, be it on roads or anywhere else.

He was addressing the crowd at the closing ceremony of a camp organised by Delhi Police for school girls. The closing ceremony was organised at Saheb Singh Verma Park near Dwarka Metro Station. About 1,000 school girls, who had undergone a training of 15 days this month, were in attendance. In a talk with City Spidey, DCP said that more of such camps were being planned in the coming months for women of various age groups. The dates for the events would be decided after January 26, he added.

On the occasion, the girls were given certificates of appreciation for their performance and for their interest in taking part in the camp. The mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation and resident of Sector 6, Dwarka, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, was present at the occasion too. She inspired the girls with her words about girls winning medals at Olympics and bringing glory to the nation.

The other dignitaries present at the occasion were ex-MLA of Matiala Assembly, Rajesh Gehlot, councillor of Dwarka - A, Nitika Sharma, councillor of Kakrola, RD Gehlot and area ACP, Rajendra Singh.
