Dwarka's Choti Si Khushi celebrates Christmas with underprivileged children

Residents from different sectors of Dwarka celebrated Christmas yesterday with the children of Choti Si Khushi at the DDA park in Sector 3.

About 150 children and women from underprivileged backgrounds participated in the festivities.

The birth of Jesus Christ was depicted by the children of Sector 3, JJ Colony, and other kids as well.

There were various events for the day, such as sports, singing, dancing and drama. The winners will be given prizes on January 26, India's Republic Day.

Seema Joshi, president of Choti Si Khushi and a resident of Sector 12, said, “We usually celebrate such occasions with underprivileged children living in the area. We want them to be able to lead their lives with dignity."

Choti Si Khushi is a Dwarka-based social organisation working towards the uplift of underprivileged children and women. Residents, mainly women from Dwarka, have been teaching and guiding these children.

Secretary of Choti Si Khushi and a resident of Sector 3, Namita Chaudhry, said, “Apart from children, we also focused on women and adult literacy. Celebrating together on such occasions helps build their confidence and trust in people. We will give out the prizes on Republic Day.”
