Although the line can be inaugurated from either Noida or Greater Noida, officials of the Greater Noida Authority want it to happen from the Greater Noida Metro depot.
After shattering the Noida “jinx” during his recent and first visit to Noida for the inauguration of the Noida-Kalkaji Metro line, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi may once again visit the city to flag off the Noida-Greater Noida Aqua Metro corridor.
Four coaches of the Metro have already reached the Greater Noida depot from China, while trials are scheduled for January 2018. Officials of both the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) have already been deployed at the depot.
According to officials of NMRC and Greater Noida Authority, the Aqua Metro corridor will open for public commute by April 2018.
According to information from the officials of Greater Noida Authority, efforts are on to have the Metro line inaugurated by the UP CM. Although the Aqua Metro Line can be inaugurated from either Noida or Greater Noida, officials of the Greater Noida Authority want the inauguration to happen from the Greater Noida Metro depot.
Yogi had visited Noida recently and again accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday to inaugurate the new Noida-Kalkaji Metro line.
