Considering the problems of consumers, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) will be starting a helpdesk from the new year. This helpdesk will address all consumer-related complaints and issues, including bill generation, correcting faulty bills and getting new or temporary connections. The helpdesk will be started in two divisions — the first one set up at the Sector 18 Customer Care Centre of the electricity department and the second one in Sector 20.

Rakesh Kumar, superintending engineer of PVVNL, said all formalities for starting the service had been completed. “It will be managed by a private agency, which has also been finalised,” he added.

Officials said consumers would no longer have to run around to get their problems addressed and that this would be a one-stop solution for all their issues. Information related to consumers and the power department can also be obtained from the helpdesk.
