Palam Vihar: Mahindra Aura residents embark on waste management

Residents of Mahindra Aura in Sector 110A, Palam Vihar, recently embarked on a waste management progamme, and the treated kitchen waste will be used as manure for the green of the condominium.

Spread over an area of 17 acres, the society has 799 flats. All families have been distributed three dustbins -- black for general waste; blue for electronic waste and green for kitchen waste.

“We have a waste management plant that has a capacity to treat as much as 800 kg of waste. Our daily collection of kitchen waste is almost 50-60 kg,” confirmed Chavi Lal, facilities manager.

Speaking about the initiative, Ankit Vohra, a member of the RWA, said, “The segregation of waste not only helps to produce manure, but is also an essential step to keep our environment safe and clean. These small steps today will make a difference for a better tomorrow
