Taking a step towards improving health services in Gautam Buddh Nagar, UP government is procuring new ambulances. The district is set to get six new ambulances in February under its 108 emergency response service. With this, the total number of ambulances under this service in the district will increase to 15, while the total number of ambulances will go up to 34.

Rakesh Thakur, officer of Ambulance Distribution and Ambulance Services in the district, said, “By February, the entire state will have 715 ambulances, which will be operated under the 108 emergency service. Of these, GB Nagar will get six.”

According to the plan so far, the new ambulances will be deployed in Jharsa, Chihajarsi, Mamura and other places, where there are no real arrangements for mobilising patients immediately.

At present, the district has Advance Life Supporting (ALS) ambulances, 108 emergency ambulances and 102 ambulance services. These are stationed at the District Hospital and the health centres of the district.
