Despite consistent pressure from the development authority, flat buyers of Greater Noida are not getting possession. In view of this situation, the Greater Noida Authority had decided to conduct audits of all builders operating in the area. The objective of the audit is to determine the construction status of various builders and the actual time required to deliver the flats. Despite the Authority’s orders, seven builders have not submitted their construction records for audit.
On January 4, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority held a meeting with the auditing company and asked the seven builders to submit their records positively by January 9. The Authority has also issued an ultimatum stating that if any of these builders fail to submit their report by January 9 they will be dealt severely by the district administration.
Needless to say this can also cause trouble for the people who have invested in the projects of the defaulting builders. Nearly 100 projects are stuck in Greater Noida West. Alluding to the seven builder projects for which records are still awaited, Debashis Panda, CEO of the Authority said, “Unavailability of records indicates that the builders are involved in some form of malpractice. There are about 20 thousand flats in the 25 builder projects which are being audited. The builder projects which have not submitted records have about 5000 flats.”
