NCR wakes up to a foggy Republic Day

Owing to the fog, drivers of two and four-wheelers had exercised a great deal of caution. Pedestrians and morning joggers too were careful.

An almost blinding expanse of fog had shrouded the National Capital Region today in the morning hours. The headlights and taillights of vehicles plying on the main and arterial roads could only partially mitigate the fog. Hence drivers had to drive very carefully, particularly while negotiating unannounced turns and bends. Pedestrians and morning joggers too had to exercise their share of caution.

Motorists actually slowed down at the accident prone junctures.

Despite the road being empty, the motorist cannot shift to high gear as the fog ahead is blinding his vision.

In tree lined stretches, the fog was particularly dense and the headlights of cars provided the sole illumination.
