Hundreds of homebuyers of Gardenia Glory, a housing project in Sector 46, Noida, protested against the builder for inordinate delays in handover of flats. Protesters said that all flatbuyers had paid around 80 to 90 per cent of the amount to the four builders — Malook Nagar, Sanjiv Kumar, Ajay Sharma and Manoj Rai. Buyers had booked the flats in 2009-10 and the builders were supposed to hand them over in 2012-13, but till date there had been no possession given to most of them. Of the 1,600 flats the builders were supposed to hand over, only 300 were occupied at present. And even those 300 were not being able to get their flats registered.
“We visited three of the builder’s offices — one in Sector 46 and two in Sector 75 — but the builders and their top management executive fled, instead of meeting us. It’s amazing how insensitive the builders are to our frustration. Where do we go to get our issues addressed?” said AK Aggarwal, a homebuyer.
Buyers hoped that the central and state governments would do something about their problem. But so far all promises to address builder-buyer issues had turned out fake. They added that they would support only that party in the 2019 elections that promised to solve their problem.
“We had wanted to meet the four builders and request them to start clearing land dues, so we can get our flats registered. Maintenance services in the housing project are also in pathetic shape. We demand that the authority take effective steps against the four of them,” said a buyer.
Aims Max Gardenia Developers Private Limited had started the Gardenia Glory housing project on 14 acres of land in Sector 46, and the builders had proposed to build 1,600 flats in 20 towers.
