Noida comes up with new February 20 deadline for the removal of bull guards

Noida authorities have suspended the campaign against bull guards on four-wheelers but have threatened violators with penalties after the new deadline. The violators will also have to pay the cost of removing the bull guards.

Noida comes up with new February 20 deadline for the removal of bull guards This type of bull guards have been banned by the central government across India in December last year.

Four-wheeler owners using bull guards in Noida have been ordered to remove them before February 20.

The transport department suspended its ongoing drive after penalising a few vehicle owners.

The Noida administration came out with a fresh directive for the removal of bull guards from vehicles. Noida is lagging behind the rest of the country when it comes to the campaign against the metal guards attached to vehicles and is yet to start its campaign. The campaign was to start two week ago.

But, said ARTO AK Pandey, action was initiated against 17 vehicle owners and the metal guards on their vehicles were removed.

Pandey told City Spidey that “for the time being, the campaign has been suspended”.

The campaign to remove metal guards attached to four-wheelers comes after a ban by the Central government on the use of bull guards.

Action will be taken against erring vehicle owners, the official said, adding that the vehicle owners would have to bear the cost of the removal of the metal guards, besides paying fines as stipulated by the officer on the ground.

According to the Noida administration, the first offence will attract a fine of Rs 1,000 and subsequent offences will be fined Rs 2,000.
