On Wednesday evening, around 9.30 pm, two miscreants in a car allegedly tried to kidnap a woman near Aditya Mega City, a high-rise society in Indirapuram. The victim has been identified as Anita, who works as a domestic help in ATS Advantage. According to residents of the society, the victim was leaving for her home when the incident occurred.
According to Anita, the miscreants had tried to pull her into their car. However, they fled when she resisted and raised an alarm. Luckily passers-by intercepted the vehicle and nabbed the miscreants. They were handed over to the police.
Anita said she did not know the miscreants, who had arrived in a white Maruti Zen (DL-2C-AA-2462).
A complaint has been lodged at the Shipra Sun City police post by Gopal Kapoor, a resident of ATS Advantage. In his words, “I was informed of the incident by a friend. The maid somehow escaped and the miscreants fled the spot. However, we found the vehicle parked in front of a nearby ATM and nabbed the culprits. Both the men were under the influence of alcohol.”
The police are now investigating the matter. According to them, both the miscreants were so drunk they were incoherent. The cops added that they were yet to record the statement of the victim.
