FIR lodged against two men who had attempted to abduct a woman in Indirapuram

The FIR has been lodged under sections 354, 366 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman for marriage or sexual intercourse; and theft or snatching.

FIR lodged against two men who had attempted to abduct a woman in Indirapuram

An FIR has been registered at the Indirapuram police station against two men who had allegedly attempted to abduct a woman last night in Vaibhav Khand, Ghaziabad. The miscreants have been identified as Gaurav Chaudhury and Chetan Sharma. While Chaudhury is a resident of Loni, Sharma hails from Abhay Khand, in Indirapuram.

The two had attempted to abduct the woman, who is a domestic help at ATS Advantage, in a white Maruti Zen bearing the number plate DL-2C-AA-2462. According to residents of the area, the incident had occurred around 9.30 pm.

Anita, the maid, said that the miscreants had fled after she had raised an alarm. Luckily, passers-by who were alerted by then intercepted the vehicle, nabbed the miscreants and handed them over to the police.

The FIR has been lodged under sections 354, 366 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman for marriage or sexual intercourse; and theft or snatching.

Anita has told the police that the miscreants were not known to her and that they had tried to pull her into the car.

Officials of the Indirapuram police station told City Spidey that the miscreants had been arrested and the vehicle seized. Officials further said that both the miscreants were heavily drunk at the time of their arrest.
