It’s that time of the year again when the entire country is thinking colour, calories and creativity.

While some in the NCR have planned to catch up on some family time indoors, most others have already started stacking up on their thandai and gujiya packets. And Gurgaon seems particularly enthusiastic, especially DLF Phase 2.

The society has organised a two-day Holi bash on its premises, comprising Rasleela and a “phoolon ki Holi”, with artistes from Vrindavan coming in for festivities. The second day will see games such as dahi matki, musical chairs and lucky draws, and organic colours, a rain dance and a range of mouth-watering dishes.

"There will be Amritsari kulchas and Purani Dilli’s khomcha, comprising chaat papri, bedmi aloo, rajma chawal and Manchurian noodles. For dessert, there will be kulfi, jalebi, rabri, gulab jamun and rasmalai. And, of course, who can forget thandai?" said Vinod Tayal, vice-president of the DLF Phase 2 RWA.

Taksila Heights in Sector 37C also has big plans for the day.

“The participation of all residents will make this Holi special,” said Vikas Bansal, general secretary of the RWA. Most residents, he said, had opted for herbal colours. There will also be a phoolon ki Holi.

Vipul Greens, on Sohna Road, will also celebrate the festival with a two-day event. “We have planned a ‘Holi Hurdang’ from 9 am to 2 pm on Friday. Entry will be free for residents and their guests. We have organised a food truck, which will be available throughout the celebrations. We have also roped in a DJ to keep visitors tapping their foot to the latest songs,” said Amit Jindal, president of the RWA.

The RWA members of Mahindra Aura in Sector 110A have arranged a food festival for its residents, along with a rain dance.

“We have marked a designated area for residents to play Holi. We have requested residents to not force anyone into celebrating with colours, and hope this Holi will be a safe and memorable one for all of us,” said Yashesh Yadav, president of the RWA.
