However, police have already told City Spidey that prima facie it appears that the assailants shot Amit Pandey with the intention of robbing him.

It is now well over twenty four hours after the Noida Police discovered the body of Amit Pandey, deputy general manager of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) who was shot by unknown assailants on Wednesday night. However until now, the police have no clues that can lead to the assailants.
Pandey who was a native of Banaras and a divorcee was living alone in his apartment, at Sapphire Tower 2 in Hazipur village of Noida. The police have sent a team to Banaras to investigate any possible angle of personal enemity.
“Pandey’s family members in Banaras have told us that he had recently been there to finalise a business deal. Therefore we are trying to investigate if he had any personal enemies. The possibility of a robbery and subsequent murder cannot also be ruled out,” said Avnish Dixit, Station Officer, Sector 39 police station.
Police have infact stated that prima facie the case looks like a murder committed with the intention of robbery. The wallet, cell phone and wrist watch of Pandey were reportedly missing when his body was discovered near a drain in Sector 105.
“The post mortem of the body was conducted on Friday night after which it was transported to Banaras for the final rites. Only a bullet injury was found on the body," said Dixit.
Police said Pandey had been missing since he left the BHEL Lodhi Road office on Wednesday, following which a missing complaint was filed by his brother-in-law Prabhat Dwivedi at Sector 39 police station on Thursday morning.
A search operation was launched and every hospital of Noida and Delhi, which falls in his metro route (Pandey used to travel to office and home by Metro), was searched. Finally yesterday at around 4.40 pm, the body was found near a drain at a deserted stretch of road in Sector 105.
