Last summer it was the same, no different this time...

Dwarkites know what they did last summer, and what they’ll do this time around. Nothing! Dry leaves collecting on the roads — and everywhere — is again a common sight. And worse, these heaps are set on fire regularly!

One such huge dump can be seen in front of Ekta Apartments in Sector 3, in front of Heritage Tower in the same sector and along Master Plan Road 201.

Jitendra Sagar, a resident of Sector 3, said, “Nothing concrete is being done to manage dry leaves, and they are regularly burnt.  This happens because the corporation has no accountability.”

Sarita Goel, another irked resident of Sector 6, added, “Everything initiated by SDMC to make Dwarka clean is ineffective. The whole system is a complete failure. People from the community must speak up!”

Lack in infrastructure for proper disposal is yet another reason why the practise persists. “At sectors 12, 3, 6, 8, 18, 16, 19, 20, such burning is regular during summers,” said PK Datta, a nature lover and a resident of Sector 19.
