Water supply hit between 9am-11pm for several Gurgaon sectors

In order to carry out upgrading work at Sector 16 boosting station, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will not supply treated water to several areas today between 9 am and 11 pm.

The areas affected include sectors 16, 17, 18, 31, 38, 39, DLF III, MG Road and others.

The GMDA has constructed an additional water storage tank and one pump house to strengthen the capacity of the boosting station to tide over the summer season.

The boosting station at Sector 16 already has two water storage tanks.

Sandeep Dahiya, executive engineer, GMDA, said, “We have to connect the newly built water storage tank with new pump house. This will require shutdown of water supply from the main boosting station. We will give morning supply to residents. Things will be restored to normal after 11 pm today when the pump is ready to operate.”

He added, “Sector 16 has our main boosting station from where we supply uninterrupted. We have placed adequate high power motors at boosting station for this purpose.”

Three tanks, each with a 5,500 kilo litre capacity, will hopefully prevent water shortage.

Residents of many areas such as DLF III, Suncity, Sushant Lok and others have been crying themselves hoarse over water shortage in the past several months.
