Will hold RWA elections soon: District registrar to Corona Optus residents

Corona Optus in Sector 37C, Guragon, is set for its next hearing with the district registrar of firms and societies on April 2. They were called for the hearing yesterday after they lodged complaints against the builder, Corona Housing Private Limited, for delaying RWA elections.

Nearly 50 residents gathered at the district registrar office yesterday at Sector 14 with banners. The builder has been delaying elections for two years now, according to the residents.

Bhagmal Takshak, joint director district registrar firms and societies, Gurgaon, said, “I heard the views of the residents of Corona Optus. No one was present in the hearing from the developer side. I have issued letter to developer for next hearing on April 2. If no one presents the hearing from developer’s side, we will decide in favour of the residents and hold election for the RWA.”

Corona Optus is a high-rise township of eight towers, with 14 floors each and 714 flats.

At present, 400 flats are occupied and in the absence of RWA the residents are unable to put their grievances before the developer.

Basements in many towers are leaking; there’s a thoroughfare through the society that the developer did not reveal in the layout plan and it’s a big security hazard. That’s why residents appealed to district registrar to conduct RWA election for proper representations of resident problems.

Nearly 50 residents gathered at district registrar office on Monday at Sector 14 with banner.

“There are serious problems with the building in terms of civic maintenance because of numerous issues like basement leakage, stagnant water and security,” complained Reetika Sharma, a resident.

Ram Diya, senior vice-president, and project head Corona Housing Private Limited, responded noncommittally, “We are trying our best to fix leaking and road-related issues.”
