In two separate incidents, Gurgaon Police arrested two MNC executives for allegedly assaulting a policeman at a police checkpoint; and three women were arrested for triggering a ruckus yesterday.

Both the incidents took place on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road.

In the first incident, assistant sub-inspector Sanjiv, along with other police officials, were stopping vehicles at a police checkpoint near MGF Mall and checking if people were driving under the permissible alcohol limit.

According to the police, around 2 am, a car with two occupants was stopped for checking.

They seemed heavily inebriated and started hurling abuses at the cops. When the cops objected, the two men started assaulting ASI Sanjiv.

The police identified the accused as Dheeraj Kumar, a resident of Moti Bagh, and Navneet Chaudhary, a resident of Sushant Lok.

A case has been registered under IPC sections 186, 332 and 353 at the DLF Phase II police station for obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions, voluntarily causing hurt and assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty.

“The police officials gathered at the spot overpowered the two men and took them to the police. Based on the ASI’s complaint, a case has been registered in the matter,” confirmed ASI Krishan Gopal, the investigation officer in the case.

In the second case, three women — all residents of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi — were arrested by the police for allegedly creating a ruckus on MG Road in an inebriated condition.

According to the police, the three women were quarrelling and hurling abuses at each other. They were taken to the DLF Phase II police station and a case under Section 160 was registered against them.

The three were presented before the court and released on bail.
