In a shocking incident, a class IX student of Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, committed suicide on Tuesday evening after undergoing depression for obtaining low scores in the recently concluded school examinations.

The victim was a 16-year-old girl, Ekisha Raghav Shah and her family resides on rent in Sector 52, Noida. She was the daughter of classical dance teacher Raghav Shah, a disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj.

The girl was found hanging at their flat in Noida. She was rushed to the Kailash Hospital by her parents, where doctors pronounced her dead.

According to family members, Ekisha had taken this drastic step, while her parents had gone out of the house for some work.

After returning, they had to forcibly open the entrance door only to find her hanging in her room.

Family members have alleged that the girl committed suicide as she was being mentally harassed by school teachers. The victim's father has claimed that his daughter was being physically harassed by teachers of the school.

Aryan Shah, the elder brother of the deceased told City Spidey that his sister was a good classical dancer and wanted to make a career in this field. “She had failed in social science and science and went into depression,” Aryan informed.

Incidentally, Ekisha’s parents had visited the school after the results were declared. They had asked the teachers to show them their daughter’s answer sheets. However, this request had been rejected. “After this, my sister used to frequently complain that the teachers were harassing her. She said that they were taking revenge on her because our parents had questioned them about the answer sheets,” Aryan stated.

Aryan also revealed that he too had been studying in the same school. “However, last year after I finished my Class X boards, my parents had shifted me from this school owing to a few reasons. In fact since then, the teachers had started making things difficult for my sister. Before the exam they had even threatened to fail her,” said Aryan.

The Shah family has told City Spidey that they will soon register a case against the school for mentally harassing their daughter.

Our reporter tried to contact the school authorities regarding the matter. However, no phone calls were answered  by them.
