New Gurgaon to have its first police station; foundation stone laid

Gurgaon CP Sandeep Khirwar laid the foundation stone for the construction of New Gurgaon’s first police station yesterday in Sector 83. It will cover sectors 81 to 88 of New Gurgaon.

In the meantime, a temporary police post has already been set up since last year to tackle the rise in crime in these new areas.

The commissioner said, “Once ready, 35-40 police staff will be employed at this police station initially, and as the city gradually develops, the number will increase to 100-120. A dedicated cyber department will also be set up to tackle all the increasing cyber crimes. It is going to be the first in the New Gurugram area, and will be under the supervision of DCP Manesar.”

The police station will be constructed in the area offered by realtor Vatika. It will be built in 10,000 sq feet area across three levels.
