Desperate homebuyers lend support to Anna's war cry against corruption

Thousands of homebuyers from Gautam Budh Nagar travelled  to Delhi today to join Anna Hazare’s protest against corruption and the government’s apathy towards the appointment of a strong Lok Pal. The protest march started at Shaheed Park and ended at Ramlila Ground.

The buyers have alleged that they have been paying EMIs for their flats for about six years now, but the possession for these apartments has been stalled until now.

KK Kaushal, a flat buyer of Amrapali Group, told City Spidey that now buyers are depending  on Anna to help them secure justice and provide them access to the builder’s accounts. They also expect the authority to take over the projects to ensure timely delivery. “Buyers have demanded the formation of a fast track court for justice and a loan waiver,” he added.

Pramod Kumar, a buyer of JP Group, said that they have provided their support to Anna. “We know that only he can help us get our rights. When we joined the protest, we felt that the condition of flat buyers is not much different than the farmers. After all we are all victims of corruption,” Kumar said.

“Flat buyers of Supertech, Amrapali, Mahagun, Unitech, Amrapali, Jaypee and others group projects have taken part in today's protest. Being a weekend, more buyers are expected to participate tomorrow,” Kumar said.
