Six encounters in Gautam Budh Nagar, wanted criminal shot dead in last two days

Gautam Budh Nagar witnessed six deadly encounters where the Noida police shot dead a wanted criminal, Shravan Kumar, carrying a bounty of Rs. one lakh, apart from arresting six others.

The arrival of the new SSP, Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma in Gautam Budh Nagar has spread alarm bells amongst the criminals in the region. In the last fifty hours, the police indulged in six encounters while six dangerous criminals carrying bounty on their heads have been arrested. 

Noida Police successfully killed a wanted criminal Shravan Kumar who was carrying a bounty of Rs. one lakh on Sunday morning during an encounter. An AK-47, a 315 bore rifle and a car was found from his possession.

Shravan and one of his accomplices were roaming in  Noida Phase-III during the morning hours of Sunday. However, the police received his whereabouts through an informer and tried to confront him.

Upon seeing the police, Shravan was caught off-guard and started firing indiscriminately whereas his accomplice was able to escape the encounter scenario. As a result, the cops too retaliated and Shravan was shot. 

Meerut Zone’s ADG Prashant Kumar too was shot during the encounter, but had a lucky escape due to the bullet-proof jacket that he was wearing. However, an Inspector Balwaan Singh's hand was injured whereas two constables Satbeer and Sanjeev were injured the leg.

The injured policemen and the criminal were admitted in the hospital where the doctors declared that Shravan was brought dead.

In the last fifty hours the police claimed to have arrested a criminal Khushi Mohammad, carrying a bounty of Rs. ten thousand during an encounter at Noida Phase-III. Further, the third encounter occurred at Noida Sector 58, where another criminal Paan Singh, carrying a bounty of Rs. twenty-five thousand was arrested.

The fourth encounter took place in Dadri which led to the arrest of a goon named Jitender, again carrying a bounty of Rs. twenty-five thousand. Apart from these, the police also claimed to have arrested two other criminals Hasrat and Salim on Sunday morning at Greater Noida’s Dankaur.

The Dankaur police then indulged in another encounter at Noida Sector 39 where some criminals were trying to steal a canter. Two criminals were shot in the leg during the firing and both are being treated in the district hospital.

Greater Noida witnessed yet another encounter on Sunday where a criminal named Dinesh, who carried a bounty of Rs. twenty-five thousand was shot and injured his leg.

The encounter took place at Sigma gol chakkar which falls under Kasna police station and top officials reached the scene in no time. The injured criminal, a resident of Bulandshahr, was taken to the district hospital. Unfortunately, police constable Krishnapal Singh's leg too was injured during the encounter.
