Here are City Spidey's top five picks from the National Capital Region (NCR):

Noida

Rally holds up traffic on e-way: A car and bike rally by Kshatriya Sena disrupted traffic on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway on Thursday. The rally was taken out in support of a demand for 35 per cent reservation in Central and state government jobs. The Sena also demanded political representation for the Rajput community.

Greater Noida

Fatal ride: A youth was killed and his brother critically injured when their bike hit the railing at Yamuna Expressway.  The accident occurred when the elder of the two, who was riding the bike at a breakneck speed, lost control near Dankaur, 7 km from Zero Point at the Expressway. A police team rushed the duo to Kailash Hospital.

Trio held for sheltering SI’s killers: Three days after sub-inspector Akhtar Khan was shot dead in Dadri during a raid, three persons were arrested for sheltering the accused in the case. Two accused in the case are still on the run.

Ghaziabad

NGT ban up in smoke: A heap of waste burning and polluting the atmosphere alongside NH-24 in Vaishali for two days went unnoticed by the authorities. A thick screen of smoke emanating from the simmering inferno posed risk to commuters on the national highway. This shows how the NGT ban on burning of waste in open is being flouted in the city.

Gurgaon

Huda office gheraoed: Dwarka expressway oustees held the Huda office at Sector 14 under siege for half-an-hour on Thursday. The protesters, residents of New Palam Vihar, whose houses are set to be demolished to pave way for the expressway, were angry over the delay in allotment of alternative plots to them. Eventually Huda estate officer came out and pacified the protesters.
