Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka, Shibesh Singh, said that more self-defence camps will be organised by Delhi Police in the area to train community’s females. He was addressing the gathering at closing ceremony of ten-day self-defence training camp at Sector 3 DDA Park. The camp was jointly organised by Choti Si Khushi, an NGO, and Dwarka Police. DCP Shibesh Singh said, “Seeing the response and the live demonstration of self-defence techniques by the community females, I am feeling really happy and satisfied. Number of such camps will be increased in the area. Also we would like to welcome any such initiative by Choti Si Khushi.”

In the camp about 100 girls and women from the underprivileged class as well as the societies in Dwarka got training in self-defence. The females were trained on the usage of different techniques in odd situations to protect themselves. They were also given personality development training. Sanjna Singh, a resident of Sector 19, who is also a volunteer of Choti Si Khushi, was one of the people who underwent the training. She shared, “This is the first time I have attended such a training camp. The experience has been amazing and now I feel much more confident and empowered. Such camps must be organised to train all the community women in Delhi.”

All the participants in the camp were given certificates of appreciation by the DCP. Also present at the occasion were ACP Rajendra Singh, SHO Dwarka North, Jasmohinder Singh and other police officials. From Choti Si Khushi, Namita Chaudhary, Sanjna Singh, Priya Bhardwaj, RC Malhotra, Leela Bora, Nandini Kumar, Anju Tiwari among others were present.
