Tired of waiting for completion of their flats, buyers of Antriksh Sanskriti, an upcoming residential society on NH24 staged a protest on Sunday. The society is being constructed as a joint project of Antriksh group and Raksha Vigyan Karmchari Sahkari Awas Samity (RVKSAS) in Ghaziabad.

Speaking to City Spidey, buyers said that they were stuck due to the misdeeds of an absconding ex-president of RVKSAS, Antriksh group the builder, and the GDA.

According to buyers of the project, RVKSAS was formed in 1991 for cooperative housing of the members. Later in 2010, the Samity tied up with Antriksh group for construction of the project. According to the tie up agreement, Antriksh was to own 63.5% of the flats while the Samity was to retain the remaining 37.5%.

“Members of RVKSAS had to pay only the various other charges like compounding charge, etc to the GDA. SL Maloo, then president of RVKSAS collected around Rs 91crore from the buyers and instead of depositing the money with the GDA, he siphoned the amount and later ran off,” said Bipin Singh, current treasurer of RVKSAS.

 

Meanwhile, due to non-payment of the dues, the Ghaziabad development Authority(GDA) sealed the project and stopped all construction on the project site. The matter was also raised at the meeting of the three-member ministerial committee in August last year.

“Maloo is a resident of Delhi. We have filed complaints with both Delhi and Ghaziabad police but nothing has come of it so far. The buyers are innocent and have paid their share. We are suffering due to other’s misdeeds and no one is taking any action,” Singh said.

Singh further said that the buyers were also ready to pay GDA’s dues but required the project map for getting loans. “We have requested the GDA for the map but have not received so far,” Singh lamented.

While the buyers are preparing to approach the local court, Antriksh group, the builder, has proposed a solution. “The builder has proposed to clear the dues by the 15th of next month. We will approach the court if things don’t work out,” Singh said.

Officials of GDA could not be contacted as the Vice Chairperson is on leave while other officials did not answer calls.

Buyers of the project also had a meeting with the management of Antriksh group for a possible solution to the problem. “Representatives of Antriksh assured us of clearing dues of the GDA and resuming construction. We will approach the court if they do not stand by their assurance,” Singh said.

When contacted Rakesh Yadav, director of Antriksh group said he was busy in a meeting. Yadav assured that he would get back with a comment.
