Thanks to CCTV footage, one of the four goons who looted a grocery shop in Mayfield Garden, Sector 51, has been identified. Gurgaon Police has launched a manhunt to nab him.

In a shocking incident, four goons were caught on CCTV snatching a gold ring from a woman in Gurgaon on Friday evening.

The incident, which took place in Block J, Mayfield Garden, in Sector 51, has sent shock waves among residents. Satpal Thakran, president of the Mayfield Garden RWA, told City Spidey that the accused had arrived in an SUV and were planning to loot a grocery shop in the block.

“The manager of the shop had gone out and his wife was in charge when the four goons arrived. They looted valuables and cash worth Rs 20,000, and showed no signs of fear as they were carrying a pistol and a country-made firearm. They tried to snatch her gold ring, and when she tried to raise an alarm, they even tried to kidnap her,” said Thakran.

Residents said that even CCTV footage of the incident, the local police initially refused to register an FIR. However, they registered the FIR when the pictures of the accused went viral on social media. The case was registered at the Sadar police station, and the four booked under sections 452, 427, 323 and 506 of the IPC.

“On the basis of the footage, we have identified the one in the red cap. He is from Rohtak and has a criminal record. A manhunt has been launched to nab him. Catching him will lead us to the other three," said Hawa Singh, CPRO of Gurgaon Police.
